With the recent release of CheckMate, the CMM & Soft Gauge Programming modules now have the ability to directly access the SOLIDWORKS GD&T (Model Based Definition) information.
When programming with either of these CheckMate modules, the GD&T (often referred to as PMI) that is embedded in the SOLIDWORKS file is automatically used directly in the definition of CheckMate features. This can be accomplished in a pick and click mode (feature by feature) or by automatically populating the CheckMate Programming browser with the entire MBD tree as defined under the DimXpertManager tab.

CMM PROGRAMMING Complete coordinate measuring machine programming within SOLIDWORKS. Programs can be posted out to all modern CMM’s negating the need for multiple programming softwares when running machines from varying OEM’s. The interoperability functionality of CheckMate provides the ability to import programs from various softwares and a common reporting platform regardless of the dimensional measurement equipment used. |

SOFT GAUGE PROGRAMMING
Programs created with this module can be used as a gauge to evaluate data collected from any number of metrology technologies. When combined with Check-Mate Point Cloud Metrology the soft gauge as it is referred to as, a full inspection report is generated in addition to color deviation maps. When used with Scan Data loader discrete point measurements from any form of DME can be evaluated. |
The following videos give a brief overview of Model Based Definition.
