PDPMI stands for ‘product data with product manufacturing information’ whereby the product data (PD) is the boundary representation model, the solid CAD model if you will.
PMI (product manufacturing information) refers to the GD&T – the dimensions and tolerances attached to that CAD either in print or 3D model form. The 3D paperless model form is called the MBD ‘model based definition’ form. MBD is more than just visual, there are meaningful links between the GD&T and the features on the CAD model.
