Origin asks...Are you ready for QIF?

Posted on Mon, Jul 28, 2014

QIF is the Quality Information Framework, a suite of XML based data models that contain everything from model definitions with associated GD&T, inspection plans, inspection results, to multi-part statistics in a common QIF document format. The new QIF 2.0 standard has been approved by the Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) for progression to an ANSI standard and will be out for public review this fall.

Soon customers will be supplying inspection plans in QIF 2.0 format and demanding inspection results in QIF 2.0 format. Origin's CheckMate can import a QIF 2.0 document preserving all features and tolerances for output to DMIS or a supported native language. CheckMate or the CMEngine can also translate any supported CMM program or native CMM results report to the QIF 2.0 document format.

Come see Origin International in the DMSC Booth (E-5200) at the IMTS show in Chicago (Sept 8-13) where we will receive a QIF document containing features and tolerance, export DMIS to measure a part on a Renishaw Equator™, and translate DMIS format results to QIF Results format and pass that on to another application in a live demonstration with several other companies. 2014QIFSummitAttendees
